Tommy Ray Ryan's Obituary
Tommy Ray Ryan, 69 years of Millstadt, Ill, born August 24, 1948, in Anna, Ill., passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud, Ill.
Tommy was a retired locomotive engineer from the Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill., and he was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served in Vietnam from 1966-1967 and being discharged in 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Nancy, nee Turner, Ryan, his brother, Randy Ryan and his sister-in-law, Lawonna Green.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Daryl Ryan, nee Byrd, his service dog and companion, Dasie Rae, his brother, Terry Rhodes, sisters, Vicky Rodgers and Patsy Ryan, his brothers-in-law, Jan (Marsha) Byrd and Jim (Connie) Green, his sisters-in-law, Donna (Ray) Welch and Sharla (Harold) Welch, his aunt, Shirley Turner, his cousin, Jerry Bittle, his nieces and nephews, Monica, Tracey, Sherry, Terry Lee "TL", Travis Denise, Brittany, Mark (Becca) Byrd, Jeff (Celinda) Welch, Jody (Sharon) Welch, Monica (Jason) Toney, Martin (Elaine) Welch, Myra (Brian)Martin, Michele (Russell) Chapman, Timothy (Maki) Green and Beverly (Gardner) Holland. He is also survived by other relatives and his brothers in arms Delta 1/5 United States Marine Corps.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill., and on Friday, December 22, 2017 an hour before the service at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill, with Rev. Matt Friz, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
