Thomas C. Rushing's Obituary
Thomas C. Rushing, 84 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on January 6, 2021. He was born February 22, 1936, in East St. Louis, IL, son of the late Thomas E. and Edith E., nee Legate, Rushing. He was married to Patricia, nee Cebuhar, Rushing, who survives him. They were married November 21, 1959, in St. Louis, MO.
Thomas was a retired Senior Systems Analyst with Monsanto Corp., Creve Coeur, MO, and a Deacon at the Canaan Baptist Church, St. Louis, MO. He was an Eagle Scout and a past Cub Master for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a past Chairman of the Columbia Planning Commission, and had served in Special Forces and was an Air Force Veteran.
Surviving are his daughter, Suzanne M. (Lee) Funk of Mascoutah, IL, sons, David C. (Lawrence R. Zerman) Rushing of St. Louis, MO, and Matthew T. (Julie) Rushing of Columbia, IL; 3 grandchildren; 2 special great-grandchildren, Adam and Nathaniel Funk; and their mother, Caroline Funk; and 4 additional great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all services were private.
