Russell Louis Baltz's Obituary
Russell Louis Baltz, 93, of Millstadt, Ill., born November 18, 1923 in Millstadt Township, Ill., passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at New Athens Home for the Aged, New Athens, Ill.
Russell was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill., a life member of the VFW Post 7980 in Millstadt, Ill., former school board member for MCS district 160, Millstadt Commercial Club, Men's Sports Club at PSOP in Belleville, Ill. He worked for Ralston Purina, Peabody Coal and Arch Mineral, and he was a United States Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Shirley Mae Baltz, nee Sliment, his daughter, Marcia Baltz; his son, Thomas (Doreen) Baltz; his grandchildren Scott (Julia) Baltz and Todd (Kelly) Baltz, his great grandchildren, Avery, Karson, Hudson, Finley and baby boy Baltz, his sister, Virginia Hoehn, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Ludwig Baltz and his mother, Ida Baltz, nee Mueller, and his brothers, William N. Baltz and James H. Baltz.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill.
Services will be on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill.with Rev. Matt Friz, officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens Of Memory in Belleville, Ill with military honors.
