Robert "Bob" E. Newbilll, 69 years, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away at 2:34 am, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital, Peoria, IL.
Bob was born December 7, 1951, in East St. Louis, IL. to Robert M., and Cora, (Donohue), Newbill.
He was an intelligent and hardworking man who graduated from SIU-E. He was a longtime custodian for Columbia School District #4 until his retirement.
Bob was catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia.
Survivors include his brother, Maurice (Brenda) Newbill of Fenton, MO, niece, Melissa Kopf, former wife and close friend, Stefanie Newbill of Columbia, IL and first cousin, Carol Helmkamp of Columbia, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert Newbill will be cremated and inurned at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL. A graveside memorial service will be held later at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: Eugene Schorb - Immaculate Conception School Education Fund, 411 Palmer Road, Columbia, IL 62236 and can be mailed to the funeral home or church.
