Richard Dale "Rich" Fields' Obituary
Dupo- Richard Dale “Rich” Fields, 72, of Dupo, passed away at 5:30 AM, Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Richard was born on February 27, 1948 in Bloomsdale, MO to Nyal and Mary (McClung) Fields. He married Deborah Cookston on November 28, 1969 in Fayetteville, NC.
Rich served his country bravely during the Vietnam War while enlisted in the United States Air Force as a jet Engine mechanic. He retired in 1987 as a master sergeant after 20 years of faithful service to his country. Once retired, he began working as head of custodial services for the Kirkwood school district and then later at the Lindbergh School district until his second retirement in 2010. He was a member of the VFW in Dupo.
He was a hardworking man who ran the Rod and Gun Club at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma and worked many years as a volunteer Firefighter for the Dupo Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting deer and rabbits, camping with his beloved family and fishing with his buddies on their annual fishing trip to Kentucky Lake to fish for bluegill and crappie.

Daughter- Carey Hunter and husband Clay of Wildwood, MO
Grandsons- Zach and Nate Smith of Wildwood, MO
Sisters- Barbara Meehan and Shirley Goddard and husband Dennis of Dupo
Brother- William “Bill” Fields and wife Magdalena of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews
Dog- “Chase”
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law- William “Perry” Meehan.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, November 27, 2020 at Peace Lutheran Church /737 Barracksview Road/ St. Louis, MO 63125. Pastor Dennis Kastens will officiate. Inurnment with military rites provided by the United States Air Force will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until time of service, Friday at Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo.
