John "Mike" Donovan's Obituary
John "Mike" Donovan, 77 years old, of Ballwin, MO, went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2020 at Garden View Care Center at Dougherty Ferry, Valley Park, MO. He was born August 20, 1942, in St. Louis, MO.
Mike had retired as a vice president from Bank of America, formerly Boatman's Bank, St. Louis, MO. He also enjoyed a second retirement from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, St. Louis, MO. He was a true sports fanatic, being a lifelong Cardinals and Mizzou fan. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Columbia, IL and had served with the US Marine Corps Reserves, where he earned sharp-shooter status.
Surviving are his children, Tim (Anna) Donovan, Scott (Laura) Donovan, Kelly (Kent) Robinson, Andrew Donovan, and Erin Donovan; grandchildren, Patrick, Casey, Sean, Lauren, Mia, Fiona, and Ryan; brother, Steve Donovan of Atlanta, GA; sister, Susan (Ron Dunn) Donovan of Ballwin, MO, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard and Mildred, nee Thorwegen, Donovan and sister-in-law, Sarah Donovan.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 22, 2020, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday August 22, 2020 at Lawlor Funeral Home, with Pastor Steven Theiss officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
