Gary Lynn Edwards' Obituary
Gary Lynn Edwards, 61 years old of Dupo, IL., passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in St. Louis, MO. He was born September 8, 1957 in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Gary was a 1975 graduate of Dupo High School in Dupo, IL. He was a very active member of his life long community. He served as a past moderator at the First Congregational Church in Dupo, IL. and currently held the role as treasure. He was also the treasure and last living charter member for DuKare food pantry. Gary was very active in over seeing the care of his mother, whom he loved dearly. He always had kind and uplifting words for everyone.
Gary made each day memorable and was a true joy to work with during his 5 years of employment at Leesman Funeral Home. He brought the kind of attitude and work ethic that all employers strive to find. He was an extremely valuable asset to our team at the funeral home and will be missed beyond measure.
Surviving are his Mother, Jane Thorne; his Sister, Kim (Michael) Pace; his Brother; David (Jennifer) Thorne Jr; his Nieces & Nephews, Carrie, Dylan, Dorian & Lauren; his long time friend, Noel Morris-McCartney; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Cleo Edwards & Step-Father, David M. Thorne Sr.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.
Graveside Services will be on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, MO.
