Erwin G. Withum Jr.'s Obituary
Erwin G. Withum, Jr., was carried away into the presence of the LORD April 29 at the age of 90 years old. He was born in St. Louis, MO, October 12, 1927. Soon after his family moved to Columbia, IL, where he became a life-long resident until March 2016, when he fulfilled his dream of moving to sunny Florida away from the “sleet and snow”! A World Ward II Veteran, Erv was preceded by his loving first wife, Jeanette Asselmeier, who went to heaven October 1994; his daughter Marcia (John) Spytek; and second wife Margaret Meyer, along with a sister, Norma Tarr. He is survived by two sons, Daniel Withum and David Withum, their spouses Sheila and Jessica; and grandchildren, Christina Frank, her husband Jamie, Matthew and Carson Withum, Sarah Seelochan and her husband Darrell, and Kyle, Kelly, and Kimberly Withum plus four great-grandchildren, Nora, Madison, Makenzie, and Easton and his beloved Paul Asselmeier and Farrell "Cookie" Tunze, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was a friend to so many, a local business owner and senior real estate appraiser. He LOVED to dance; play golf; and watch his beloved St. Louis Cardinals till his last day. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. “Well done good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of your Lord. You made the last putt!”
