Christine D Englebretson's Obituary
Christine D. Englebretson (nee Baltz), 78, of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023 after a long illness, with her husband and children by her side.
Christine was born March 14, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, grew up in Millstadt, and graduated in 1963 from Belleville West High School. She graduated from Millikin University in 1967 with a double major in History and English. On June 10, 1967 she married Robert E. Englebretson II in the Cadet Chapel at the Air Force Academy, CO. She was a dedicated wife and mother, who shepherded her family through two decades of military life around the United States before returning to settle in Millstadt in 1989. She was a fantastic cook who enjoyed entertaining, loved music, and taught adult literacy and English as a second language to spouses of military personnel.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Englebretson II of Millstadt; children Robert E. Englebretson III and Elizabeth A. Englebretson; mother Betty Baltz; sister Marilyn Baltz Eviatar,; brother John Baltz; and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Baltz; nephew Neal Baltz; and brother-In-Law Uri Eviatar.
A memorial will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of choice.
