Some years ago, after our dad, Wayne Stapf had passed , my sister, Becky and I stopped in to see our Uncle Russel, Aunt Carol, Gary and Madonna. Such an enjoyable visit! We both also love gardening and chickens so we delighted in the baby chicks and looked at the beautiful produce, especially the easy-to-pick blackberries, which just happened to be ripe. Russell brought out the family album and we sat under a shady tree and looked at pictures and shared stories. It was wonderful to visit Gary and Madonna, too. Before we left, Carol picked a pint of blackberries to take with us. I looked back to wave as we drive away, and the sun was shinning on the tallest, lushest corn I think I’ve ever seen.
