Betty DeHart's Obituary
Betty DeHart, 74 years, of Columbia, Illinois, passed away on April 7th, 2023 in Columbia, Illinois. She was born January 14th, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Caroline, nee Frye, Couranz.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Columbia Middle School, spending time with friends, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Betty was also a Parent Educator with Parents as Teachers for over 20 years and was National Parent Educator of the Year. She loved working with and helping those parents and their children. Advocating for children was her life’s work.
Surviving are her daughters; Michelle (Matt) Riebeling, Amy (Jonathan) Dukes, and Jennifer (Ariel) Loza, and grandchildren; Noah, Ethan, Kane, and Luna Riebeling, Huxley Dukes, and Isabella Loza.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Caroline Couranz.
