Wilmer J. Stiffler's Obituary
Wilmer J. Stiffler, 90, of Millstadt, passed away at 11:10 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Oak Hill Care Center in Waterloo.
He was born February 3, 1930 in Randolph county to Steve and Ida (Gasser) Stiffler. He married Audrey Ross in September of 1952 and she preceded him in death on December 27, 2018. Wilmer worked many years as a truck driver for Midwestern Gas Company in Belleville until his retirement at age 60. He was a member of Local #50 when he was driving and was a former member of the Sportsman Club. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling with his family to different locations, woodworking and shelling pecans. He was a youngster at heart and he kept the staff of Oak Hill on their toes.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Keck of Millstadt and Linda Moushey of St. Louis and one son; Bruce Stiffler and wife Brenda of Millstadt; four granddaughters, Stephanie MacCullen and husband Bill of Maine, Kelly Gehlhausen and husband Marc of Millstadt, Laura Perez and husband Steve of St. Louis, Amy Moushey of St. Louis and one grandson, Scott Moushey and wife Michelle of St. Louis, 6 great grandchildren with one on the way as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister- Helen VanBuren and his beloved dog- "Mitzy".
As per his wishes he will be cremated and services will be held at a later date. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt.
