William G. Waters' Obituary
William G. Waters, 95 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Bria of Columbia in Columbia, IL. He was born April 3, 1928, in East St. Louis, IL.
William was a retired school teacher. He began his teaching career at Red Bud High School teaching chemistry, he then went to Sparta and retired from Dupo Community School District 196 having taught Science and math at all three grade schools. William served as a stand in principal for two years and he loved organic gardening.
Surviving are his two daughters, Julene (Daniel) Trost, and Rebecca (Lee) Scherzer, his grandchildren, Chad Daniel (Jennifer) Trost, Anthony Matthew (Amy) Trost, Dale (Danith "Dani") Scherzer and Betsy Scherzer, his great-grandchildren, Caleb, Mackenzie, Simon, Reagen and Elias Trost, Dominic, Kaylie, Olivia & Madison Trost, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Frances Ann Waters, his son, Vance Waters and his parents, Guy Webster and Esther, nee Mousette, Waters
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 405 E. Main Street, Belleville, IL., 62220, with a memorial service beginning at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Faith Baptist Church, 405 East Main Street, Belleville, IL. 62220. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL.
