William Herman Wappel's Obituary
W. Herman was retired from Great Lakes Carbon Corp., where he had worked as a Supervisor. He was also a member of American Legion Post #581, Columbia, IL, and V.F.W. Post #805, O'Fallon, IL. He served as a staff sergeant with Battery "B"591st Field Artillery Battalion in the Army and was a veteran of WWII in the European Theatre.
