William L. Hamilton's Obituary
William Louis Hamilton, 93 years, of Herod, Illinois, passed away on March 13th, 2023 in Belleville, Illinois. He was born January 17th, 1930 in Sugar Loaf Township, Illinois to William Leon and Alma, nee. Weihl, Hamilton.
Bill had a passion for the outdoors, reading and tinkering. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed traveling in his earlier years. Bill was an Army veteran.
Surviving him are his sons; William "Bill" (Mary) Hamilton, Steve (Heidi) Hamilton, and Dan Hamilton, brothers; Richard (Roberta) Hamilton and Randy (Phyllis) Hamilton, grandchildren; Blaire, Evan, Ally, and Lindsay Hamilton. Other special people surviving Bill, former daughter-in-law, Carol Hamilton, special friends, Gary (Wendy) Reynolds and Randy (Linda) Werkheister, his favorite nurse/niece, Karin Hamilton, along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Hamilton, wife, Shirley,nee. Metz, Hamilton, four brother-in-laws; Barney (Evelyn) Metz, Floyd G. Metz, Lloyd Metz and Arthur Metz, and a very special best friend; his dog, Pogo.
A memorial visitation will be held Monday, April 3rd, 2023 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Illinois. Services will begin Monday, April 3rd 2023 at 11:00am with Jim Jarvis officiating.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Helping Strays of Monroe County.
