William Doerr was born in Monroe County, IL, son of the late William C. Doerr and the late Lydia (Brauch) Doerr. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. He was the husband of Genevieve (Grahlherr) Doerr, who survives him. They were married on June 22, 1943. He had worked as a millwright with Cargill, Inc. of Cahokia, IL, and had retired from the Monroe County Nursing Home
