Wilbur 'Chuck' Ludwig's Obituary
Wilbur G. 'Chuck' Ludwig, 79 yrs., of Columbia, IL, entered into Heaven on the morning of Sunday, October 16, 2016, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born in Columbia, IL, the son of Wilbur W. 'Wips' and Louise (Sitton) Ludwig. Chuck was a lifelong resident of Columbia. He attended school in the Columbia School District. After graduating high school, Chuck served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then went on to work for Schueler Bros. Construction Co., and then on to H. J. Frierdich & Sons, both where he worked as a draftsman and superintendent. Chuck sang lead, played tenor saxophone and clarinet for the Rhythmnaires. He also sang and played saxophone at Faith Lutheran Church, Columbia, IL, where he attended. He was married to the late Edith, nee Weis, Ludwig. They were married on September 9, 1956, in Millstadt, IL. She had passed away October 5, 2009.
