Wayne Allen Aldridge's Obituary
Wayne Allen Aldridge, 80, of Waterloo, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO.
He was born January 3, 1940, in Chicago to Warren and Sulah (Simpkins) Aldridge. He married Mary Jane Thompson and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2015.
He served his country as a member of the United States Army. Once honorably discharged, he began a long career as a maintenance supervisor at Monsanto. Member of American Legion Post 784 in Cahokia. He was a longtime member the Columbia Masonic Lodge and was a 32 degree within the Scottish Rite and a member of Ainad Temple in East St. Louis. In his spare time, he coached Little League baseball for many years, his team was always called "The Rascals". Wayne liked spending time outdoors fishing and vegetable gardening, especially tomatoes.
Surviving are two sons, Timothy (Mary) Aldridge and Thomas (Louise) Aldridge both of Waterloo,daughter, Julie (David) Camden of Dupo,; grandchildren, Sarah (Brian Lechner) Aldridge, Jennifer (Robert) Soncasie, Brandon Hansen, Andrew (Emily) Camden, Erin (Adriana) Osario, Courtney (Aaron O'Brien) Camden; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Amanda, Adam & Austin Lechner, Brody, Henry, Gwyn & Harrison Camden and Finnegan O'Brien; great great grandson, Parker Baur; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Doris Weber; brother, Warren Aldridge.
A private graveside will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo.
