Wava Nell Sumoski's Obituary
Wava Nell Sumoski, 91 years, of Port Huron, MI, and formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 24, 2020 at Wahdams Creek Senior Living, Smiths Creek, MI. She was born March 12, 1929, in Okeechobee, FL, daughter of the late Allan Levy and Lela Elizabeth, nee Barwick, Syfrett. She was married to the late Charles Sumoski. He had passed away on May 24, 1997.
Wava was a past member of the First Baptist Church, and American Legion Post 581 Aux., Columbia, IL. She had been a waitress for over 32 years at Greenfield's Tavern and Restaurant in Columbia, IL. Wava had moved north to Port Huron, MI, to be near her son.
Surviving are her son, Michael (Teri) Sumoski of Port Huron, MI; two sisters, Edna Hargrove of Lake Placid, FL, and Evelyn McDonald of Ft. Myers, FL, along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles L. Sumoski, along with a sister Nadine Peavy.
There will be no public services. Interment will be in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
