Wanda "Doris" Scharf's Obituary
Wanda "Doris" Scharf, nee Procasky 82, of Millstadt, IL born June 12, 1932 in St. Clair Township, IL died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Few people knew her as Wanda. Doris married the love of her life, Leroy Scharf on December 24, 1950. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage before his death July 27, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her mother Golda Procasky (nee Hargis), her father and stepmother, Leroy and Ann Procasky, a sister Joyce Dill, a daughter, Bonnie in infancy, a son, Larry Scharf, and her loving husband, Leroy Scharf. Doris longed for the day when she could
"waltz across heaven" with her husband.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Gary (Judy) Scharf of Millstadt, Sandy (Bruce) Siddle of Millstadt, Darrell Scharf of Hampton, IL.; grandchildren Amber (John) Weems, Millstadt, Eric Scharf, Houston, TX, Jonathan (Jackie) Siddle, Belleville, Kevin (Becky) Siddle, Belleville, Dustin Scharf, Millstadt; great grandchildren Dallas Siddle, Riley Weems, Adelle, Ethan, and Cora Siddle, a brother, Gene (Ann) Procasky of FL, many more relatives and friends.
A special thank you to the staff and fellow residents at Garden Place Assisted Living in Millstadt. Your love and care helped to make the past (almost) two years enjoyable for Mom.
Donations may be made to Concordia United Church of Christ where Doris was a life-long member.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00p.m. at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL.
Funeral services will be at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Krueger officiating.
Burial will be immediately following at Concordia Church Cemetery, Belleville, IL
