Walter E. Thackrey's Obituary
Walter E. Thackrey, 92 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Columbia Rehab. and Nursing Center, Columbia, IL. He was born in Mill Shoals, IL, March 28, 1922, the son of the late John and LouGilla (Musgrave) Thackrey.
Walter was a retired mechanical engineer with Illinois American Water Co.. He had served in the US. Navy as an electrician's mate and was a Veteran of WW II. In the 1980's, he had earned his Realtor's license and worked with Guy Haltenhof Real Estate in Columbia, IL. He was married to Rachel (Mumper) Thackrey, who survives him. They were married on February 14, 1949, at Pocahontas, AR.
