Walter "Red" Kermit Schubert's Obituary
Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Irene Lena Schubert, nee Helfrich, his son, Marvin Schubert and his parents, Walter and Amanda, nee Rodemich, Schubert Sr. He is survived by his son, Larry (Marlene) Schubert of Millstadt, Ill., daughters, Diane (Jim) Jacob of Millstadt, Ill., and Kay Ann ôKaseyö (Gary) Neff of Smithton, Ill. His grandchildren, Angie (Barry) Jones, Bryan Schubert, Christie (fiancΘe Jeremy Schuler) Schubert, Dustin Winter, Becky Neff and Ben Neff, his great granddaughters, Alexa Jones & Rowyn Jones, his sisters-in-law, Priscilla Noerper and Betty Schaefer, and his brother-in-law, Eugene Eckert. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Walter had worked for 40 years as a foreman/meat cutter at Streck Packing Company in Belleville, Ill., then he worked at Schubert Packing Company in Millstadt, Ill. Walter was a member of the Meat Cutters Local 545, Modern Woodmen and Zion Evangelical church in Millstadt, Ill. Walter was an avid coon hunter. He and his friends were the charter members of the Millstadt Coon Hunters Association. He loved gardening and nurturing his pecan and walnut trees, and if you needed a well ôwitchedö, ôRedö was the one to call. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and he loved visiting with his grandchildren & great granddaughters. Memorials may be made to the Millstadt Senior Center, St. James Catholic Church or to the donorÆs choice.
