Wade R. Bivins' Obituary
Wade R. Bivins 57 years of East Carondelet, IL, passed away on November 29, 2023, in Columbia, IL. He was born October 18, 1966, in East Saint Louis, IL.
Wade loved hunting and going on trips with his wife. His favorite was spoiling his grandkids. He enjoyed picking on family members and having a drink with friends and family. Wade kept busy by working on the Mississippi for 20 years, was a Volunteer Firefighter for Prairie DuPont Fire Department for 39 years, and on the ESDA for about 10 years.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Paula Bivins, nee Goss, his daughters, Tabetha (Fiancé, Tony Parisi), Wendy (Jason) Bundy, and Jenny (Fiancé, Jeff Heusohn) Bivins, his grandchildren, Parker, Brady, and Rosie, his brothers and sisters, Norman Bivins, Vera Freppon, Carla (Mark) Griffith, and Joe Bivins, his brothers-in-law, Warden R. Goss, Robert L. Goss, Frank McAbee, and Doug Freppon along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence H. and Helen D., nee, Kuni, Bivins, his brothers, Marvin Bivins, Roger Bivins, and Raymond Bivins, his sisters-in-law, Rhonda McAbee, and Amanda Bivins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home Dupo, IL., with a time of remembrance beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Emergency Responders and Tow Operators will a walkthrough at approximately 7:00 p.m. Personal participating in the walkthrough should line up outside the funeral home beginning at 6:30 p.m.
When the memorial service is completed, an emergency vehicle and tow operator procession will proceed from the funeral home to the East Carondelet Community Center.
Emergency Vehicle and Tow Trucks participating in the procession should park at the First Pentecostal Church, 400 Louisa Avenue, Dupo, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to The Backstoppers or the Survivor Fund for Fallen Tow Truck Drivers by going to www.internationaltowingmuseum.org.
