She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond J. Schaefer, whom she married on October 21, 1942, her parents: Anthony and Irene, nee Dashney, Pfeffer and sisters and brothers. She is survived by her children: James Schaefer of Scott Depot, WV. & Geri (Jeffrey) Burnworth of Swansea, IL., her grandchildren: David and Jeffery Schaefer and Allison Burnworth, her sister-in-law: Betty Schaefer, she is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends. Virginia was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL. She was a homemaker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
