Virginia A. Mehrmann's Obituary
Virginia Mehrmann, nee Thompson, 92, of Millstadt, Ill., born, March 18, 1924, in Grand Tower, Ill., passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Virginia had worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Memorial Hospital in housekeeping. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill., Floraville Community Grange and the Millstadt Senior Citizens.
Virginia was born to Effie Thompson and she was lovingly raised by Adam and Clara, nee Steiger, Keim as part of their family on a farm located in southern Millstadt township.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Mehrmann whom she married on May 17, 1942, her son, Wayne Mehrmann, her sister, Myrtle Plab and her brother Monroe Keim.
Virginia is survived by her son, David A. (Faye) Mehrmann , her daughter-in-law, Kathy Mehrmann, her granddaughter, Debbie (Doug) Volmert, her grandson, Greg (Stacy) Mehrmann, her granddaughter, Tracy (Chris) Wolf, her granddaughter, Robin (Terry) Koderhandt, her great grandchildren, Brett Volmert, Luke Volmert, Caleb Volmert, Madison Mehrmann, Emma Mehrmann, Justin Koderhandt, Joshua Koderhandt, Kylie Wolf and Alyssa Wolf, her sister, Lois Brittin, sister-in-law, Verida Franke and her brother-in-law, Merlin (Gladys) Mehrmann. She is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 4 -8 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill. There will be a Grange Rites service at 7 p.m. by the Floraville Community Grange.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill., with Pastor Matt Friz, officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Ill.
