Virginia L. Harres' Obituary
Virginia L. Harres, 92 years, of Millstadt, IL, passed away on December 27, 2018 at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Waterloo, IL. She was born May 27, 1926, in Millstadt, IL, the daughter of the late Edwin and Amy, nee Weible, Fischer. She was married to Kenneth T. Harres, who survives her, for 67 years. Virginia was a loving wife, mom, grandmother (Grandma Millstadt), great grandmother, sister, and friend. She never met a stranger, engaging in conversation with anyone that crossed her path. Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face then being with them.
Her family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to the staffs at Oak Hill Nursing Home and Garden Place Senior Living.
In addition to her husband, also surviving are her 4 sons, Dan (Susan) Harres of Belleville, IL, David (Carol) Harres of Millstadt, IL, Tom (Darla) Harres of Belleville, IL, and Scott Harres of Columbia, IL; 9 grandchildren, Ryan (Krysten) Harres of Columbia, Colleen (Aaron) Day of Belleville, IL, Max Harres of Fairview Heights, IL, Cole (Kristin) Harres of St. Louis, MO, Alex (Brittany) Harres of Lebanon, IL, Allison (fiancé Mitch Baum) Harres of St. Louis, MO, Sam, Maddie, and Charlie Harres of Columbia, IL; 6 great-grandchildren, Logan, Jack, Marek, Landon, Leo, and Hudson; sister, Dorothy Germann of Millstadt, IL; brother Stanley (Anna Lee) Fischer of Sycamore, IL; sisters-in-law, Rita Fischer of Belleville, IL, and Mary Ann Dillenberger of Waterloo, IL, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
