Virginia Bahr's Obituary
Red Bud- Virginia Martha Johanna Bahr, 94, of Red Bud, fell asleep in Jesus at 2:37 PM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Red Bud Regional Care Center.
Virginia was born on August 13, 1926 in Hastings, NE to Rev. William Frank Carl and Emma (Boettcher) Bahr. She was baptized into the Christian faith on August 22, 1926 and confirmed on May 26, 1940.
She was currently a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud. She enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals and liked the challenge of word puzzles.
Survivors include her sisters- Arlene Leenerts and Grace Schneider and brother- Bill Bahr all of St. Louis, sisters in law- Darlene Bahr of St. Louis, Doris Bahr of Arnold and Esther Bahr of Wichita, KS and one brother-in-law- Marty Schneider of St. Louis. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings- Vivian, Albert, Calvin, Virgil, Evangeline and Luther Bahr.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud. Pastor Mark Nebel will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Prairie (Red Bud). Visitation will be from 10:30 Am until time-of-service Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud.
