Virgil Edgar Kempfer's Obituary
Virgil Edgar Kempfer, 96 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on December 26, 2024 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, IL. He was born August 13, 1928, in Modoc, IL.
Buddy served his country in the United States Army as a Corporal in Korea. Buddy was retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL., the Red Bud VFW Post 6632 and he enjoyed golfing at the North County Country Club.
Surviving are his niece, Donna Caywood, his sister, Ina Doiron, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Kempfer; his sons, Bruce Kempfer & Randall Kempfer; his parents, Frank E. & Clara, nee DeRousse, his sisters, Fern Nitzsche, Wilma Wagner & Betty Deterding; his brother, Gary Kempfer.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL.
Services will be held on Thursday January 2, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL, with Pastor Cory Hartz, officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery in Red Bud, IL.
