Viola A. Muench's Obituary
Viola A. Muench, 87, of Red Bud, IL., born August 22, 1937, in Red Bud, IL., to the late Fred and Anna Voss, passed away on March 28, 2025 in Waterloo, IL.
Viola was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events they were involved in. For over thirty years Viola was the school cook at St. John's Lutheran School in Red Bud, IL. Her faith was very important to her, she belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church. Some of her interest were reading, quilting, but will be fondly remembered for being a great cook.
Surviving are her children, Glen (Barb) Muench, Marlene Deterding, Kevin (Connie) Muench, Diane Muench; sister, Anita Mueller; Grandchildren, Randy (Lisa) Muench, Ryan (Breanne) Muench, Kimberly (Jeremy) Schlueter, Rachael (Tyler) Liefer, Adam Muench; great-grandchildren, Tori, Jack, Charlie, Evan, Presley, Darcy, Nolan, Emma, Everett and Hailey; along with other relatives and friends.
As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband, Floyd Muench; son-in-law, Dennis Deterding; granddaughter, Christina Muench; her 7 brothers and 5 sisters.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2025, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL, and on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 9:30 am - 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL. Services will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday April 1, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, with Pastor Brian Nowak and Pastor Mark Winkelman, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
