Viola A. Haltenhof's Obituary
Viola A. Haltenhof, 93, most recently of Springfield, IL, and formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away at the Regency Care Center, Springfield, IL. She was born in rural Hecker, IL, daughter of the late Peter and Ida (Schein) Schneider. She was married to the late Guy E. Haltenhof, they were married on February 14, 1942, in St. Louis, MO. He passed away January 1, 2000. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL, where she had been active with the Women's Fellowship and served as Sunday School Superintendent, was the original Jr. Women's League President and served on the Consistory Board. She was retired from the Columbia Unit #4 School District, Columbia, IL, where she had been an elementary teacher for 29 years. She also served as a past president of the PTA, was a member of the Monroe County Retired Teachers Association, and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
