Viola M. Cowell's Obituary
Viola M. Cowell, nee Dougherty, 98 of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away on June 25, 2018. She was born September 15, 1919. Viola married Clyde L. Cowell on July 1, 1950. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1991.
Viola was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister, sister-in-law, and a devoted Catholic.
An Irish lass and lady of class, you taught us to live, love, and laugh and so much more. Now it's time to reunite with dad and share in God's eternal glory. Thank you mom, for all the love you gave us and all the lives you touched. We will love you forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Dian (Greg) Keil, her son Dean (Cleo) Cowell, her grandchildren, Barry (Devon) Albert, Beau Albert, Amanda (Steven) Falkenhain, Adam (Liz) Cowell, and Amy (Bryan) Trollop; her great grandchildren, Tori Albert, Griffin Ziebold, Dylan Falkenhain, Madison Falkenhain, Ella Cowell, Brody Trollop, Colton Albert, Maverick Cowell, Fallyn Albert, and Haydn Albert; her niece, Carol Dougherty; her nephews, Steve (Fiance, Mary Jane Kish) Van Buren, Phil (Karen) Cowell, and Dan (Brenda) Cowell; her special sister-in-law, Bernice "Bunny" Cowell, along with great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
Viola is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Emma Dougherty, nee Murphy; her siblings, Loretta and Julius Pollock, John "Pat" and Mary Dougherty, Joe Dougherty, Mary and Rudy Van Buren, and infant brother, Christopher Dougherty; brother-in-law, Leo Cowell; niece, Martha Jane Dougherty; and nephew, Robert Dougherty.
All services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Red Bud, Illinois, with visitation Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
with an 11:00 a.m. Mass to follow. Monsignor Dennis Schaefer will be officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, in Red Bud, Illinois.
