OBITUARY
Vernon Edwin Mehrmann
Vernon Edwin Mehrmann, 87, of New Athens, IL., born May 15, 1937 in Waterloo, IL., to the late Edwin F. and Margaret Mehrmann, passed away on February 11, 2025, in O'Fallon, IL.
Vernon was a caring and devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his family. He was a very talented musician, enjoyed very much playing his guitar and was an avid horseman, loved taking care of his horses.
Vernon and Sharron were members of Life Community Church, Columbia, IL. He was Honorably Discharged from the Army National Guard of Illinois in April 1962.
Surviving are his loving wife, Sharron, nee Richards, Mehrmann: daughter, Karen K. (Lawrence B.) nee Mehrmann, Gardner along with their sons Brian L.D. Gardner, and Joshua R. Gardner; son, Daniel (Kara Baldus) Mehrmann: step-son, Lenny (Melanie) Stovall: step-daughter, Christy Leonard: sister-in-law, Darlou Mehrmann: also survived by his step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin F. and Margaret, nee Friederichs, Mehrmann; stepfather, Robert Probst; brother, Sylvester Mehrmann and his granddaughter Katie Lynn Gardner.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia, IL., where the Memorial Service will be at 12:00 pm at Leesman Funeral Home with Pastor Jamey Bridges officiating.
