Vernon Scott "Scotty" Marlen's Obituary
Vernon Scott "Scotty" Marlen, 83, of East Carondelet, IL, passed away at South County Nursing Home, Arnold, MO. He was born in Dupo, IL, the son of the late Edward and Nellie "Babe" (Fanger) Marlen. He was a retired Purchasing Director with McDonnell-Douglas, St. Louis, MO and managed the F-18 Materials Program. He was a charter member of Hilltoppers Swim Club, Dupo, IL, Dupo Khoury League, a former minor league player in the Yankees' Organization, had been President and was a co-founder of the Dupo Quarterback Club, Past President & School Board Member of the Dupo School District, member of the Shriner's Ainad Temple, East St. Louis, IL, Emeth Lodge #1030, AF & AM, Cahokia, IL, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Southern Illinois, and the First Baptist Church, Dupo, IL. He was recently inducted into the Dupo Walk of Honor. He was married to Betty (Small) Marlen, who survives him. They were married on August 28, 1948.
