He was a member of the Sterling Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL, Columbia Blue Lodge #474 A.F. & A.M., Columbia, IL, and was a member of the Shriners. He was a retired switchman with the Terminal Railroad, East St. Louis, IL.
