Vernon Alwanda “Chum” Dell, 93, of Dupo, Ill., born December 6, 1921 in Moark, AR. ,passed away December 31, 2014 in Columbia Rehab and Nursing Center in Columbia, Ill.
Chum was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Dupo, Ill.
Chum was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Wilburn J. “Jack” Dell, her parents, Neal and Maude, nee Sullivan, Miller, her daughter, Lavonna Van Pelt, and her brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Dell is survived by her sons, Danny (Sharon) Dell & Jack (Karen) Dell Jr., her daughters, Shona (Mike) Czyz and Lori Dell (Kim Pullen). She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Dupo, Ill.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill., and on Monday, January 5, 2015 an hour before the service at the church.
Funeral will be on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church (620 Godin Ave.) Dupo, Ill., with Rev. Roger Reid, officiating.
Interment will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Ill.
