Udell P. Koblitz's Obituary
Udell P. Koblitz, 96 of Columbia, Ill., formerly of Dupo, Ill., born, April 1, 1920 in Edwardsville, Ill., passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, MO.
Mr. Koblitz retired from Orkin Exterminating. He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., he served on the Daugherty Public Library board in Dupo for 4 years, sang in the praise choir at Christ United Church of Christ, and he served in the United States Army for 3 years during WWII. He loved being outdoors, he also loved baseball, hunting, fishing, golf and having a dog for companionship. He began playing baseball with the 1937 Columbia High School team.
He happily spent his last few years at Garden Place in Columbia, Ill. His family would like to thank the staff at Garden Place for their care and support.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Luella Koblitz and his parents, Paul I. & Alma M., nee Leicht, Koblitz and his brother, Paul J. Koblitz.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie M. Koblitz, his son, Ronald D. Koblitz. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., with Rev. Todd Mushaney, officiating.
Interment will be held in Zion Bohnemeier Cemetery in Sugarloaf Township, Ill.
