Timothy G. Walster's Obituary
Timothy Glennon Walster, 76 years, of Columbia, Illinois passed away on February 9th, 2023 in Valley Park, Missouri. He was born June 27th, 1946 in Red Bud, Illinois to Glenn and Lillian (Marlen) Walster.
Tim worked on the Railroad as a conductor for 43 years, retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He was devoted to his Catholic faith, unable to attend onsite, he never missed mass via TV. Traveling abroad and spending time with his dear wife, Sheila was definitely the highlight of his life. A proud father of four children and three grandchildren that he loved spending time with. They brought him much joy.
Over the years, he also enjoyed fishing trips with his railroad buddies, yard work with his "Better Homes and Garden" look, he was a perfectionist. From digging a hillside to make a waterfall, to picking up gum balls, outdoors was his thing.
We will miss his sense of humor, his short one liners, and his ability to always have a joke to make you laugh. Tim was a kind man who will forever live in the hearts of those he loved.
Surviving him is his wife, Sheila Faye Walster, sons; Dave Walster and Jon (Tabitha) Walster, daughters; Stephanie Walster-Wombacher and Amanda Walster, sisters; Glenda Vetter, Joan (Tom) Adams, and Mary (Roger) Bieber, brother, Ronnie (Carol) Walster, and grandchildren; Carsyn Wombacher and Connor and Caiden Walster, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Lillian Walster, brother, James (Cora) Walster, and brother-in-law, Bob Vetter.
Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 14th at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, Illinois with Father Paul officiating. Interment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Columbia, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. James Catholic School, 412 W. Washington St., Millstadt, IL 62260.
Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home.
