Tom was preceded in death by his parents: George & Ida Elizabeth, nee Dean, Austin, who died February 1929, his aunt: Sarah Jane, nee Dean, Hampton, and his uncle: Tom Hampton, who raised Tom. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 62 years: Virginia, nee Barker, Austin, his five children: Larry E. (Georgia) Austin of Imperial, MO., Carol A. (Glenn) Bournstein of Waterloo, IL., Philip "Pete" (Sandy) Austin of St. Louis, MO., Robert "Warren" (Linda) Austin of East Carondelet, IL., & Paul W. Austin of Granite City, IL., he is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and other relatives & friends. Tom served in the Navy during World War II. Memorials may be made to Tip Hospice (200 N. Center Dr., Alton, IL. 62002)
