Theresa "Terry" Marie Kennedy's Obituary
Theresa Marie Kennedy ("Terry"), of Millstadt, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Terry was born on June 27, 1957 in St. Charles, Missouri, to Joseph Francis Kennedy ("Joe") and Catherine Joan Kennedy, née de Nava ("Katy"), both of Webster Groves, Missouri.
She is survived by her three children, Robert Pearce Wilson III ("Bob"), Catherine Ruby Sopow, née Wilson ("Kitty"), and Joseph Conrad Wilson ("Joe"), who were all by her side in her last moments. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Michelle Rosanne Wilson; son-in-law Tachi Arrow Sopow; two granddaughters, Alexandra Elizabeth Wilson ("Alex") and Sophia Bea Wilson ("Sophie"); three siblings, Patrick Michael Kennedy ("Pat"), Timothy Mark Kennedy ("Tim"), and Mary Kennedy Hughes; Mary's husband, David Lawrence Hughes ("Dave"); Pat's significant other, Dar Hansen; nephews Brian Joseph Kennedy, Jonathan David Hughes ("Jonny"), Jonny's significant other, Chrissy Hampton, and Benjamin Joseph Hughes ("Ben"), great niece and nephew; sweet Mia and Baby Jaxson, and a wide circle of friends. Mary and Ben lovingly cared for Terry in her final months. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Katy, and by her sister-in-law Lisbeth Brown Kennedy ("Lis").
Terry will be remembered for her apple pies, her love of her Irish heritage, and above all, her kindness towards and consideration of everyone she met. A devoted Catholic and parishioner at St. James in Millstadt, her faith gave her strength throughout her life and brought her comfort and acceptance in death. Special thanks to dear friend Jean Cerneka for bringing communion every Sunday in addition to regular visits.
Terry requested no memorial services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be donated to the Millstadt Senior Center, whose transportation team shuttled Terry and other seniors to countless doctors' appointments. Checks may be made out to the Millstadt Senior Center and sent to 102 S. Jefferson St, Millstadt IL 62260.
Special thanks to Terry's routine transporter, Bob Louis, for his dedication in serving Millstadt's seniors, and for going above and beyond in his care for Terry. Thanks also to the radiation and oncology team at Siteman Cancer Center in Shiloh, Illinois.
