Sylvester G. "Tuffy" Mueth's Obituary
Sylvester G. “Tuffy” Mueth, 88 of Millstadt, Ill., born February 12, 1928, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh, Ill.
Tuffy retired as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill., Carpenter’s Local #433, Quail Club of Millstadt, Ill., Millstadt’s Sportman’s Club, Charter member of the Millstadt Knights of Columbus, Charter member of the Millstadt Commercial Club, Managed Millstadt Mon-Clair baseball team for over 50 years, Inaugural member of the Mon-Clair League Hall of Fame, and received the lifetime achievement award for the Mon-Clair League.
Tuffy was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mueth, nee Rehg, his parents, Joseph & Anna, nee Becker, Mueth, his brothers, Arthur, Herbert, Cletus, Emil, Raymond, Henry & Erwin, his sisters, Luella & Aurelia and a sister in infancy.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Bill) Klopmeyer, his sons, Joel (Lynne) Mueth & Steve Mueth, his grandchildren, Jamie (Jared) Keck, Natalie Klopmeyer (Fiance, Justin Stephens), Jenny (Adam) Miear, Tara (Ryan) Radake, & Jared Mueth, his great grandchildren, Sam Miear, Cooper Miear, C.J. Stephens, Lucy Keck & Max Radake. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends.
A Special thank you to all the people who let Tuffy fish at his favorite "honey holes" and to all his fishing buddies.
Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church Education Fund or Millstadt Green Machine Baseball team.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill., and Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill., with Monsignor Marvin Volk, officiating.
Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Millstadt, Ill.
