Mr. Kettler was born in Paderborn, IL, Son of the late Herman and Catherine, nee Karban, Kettler. He was the husband of Mathilda, nee Hoffmann Kettler, who survives him. They were married in Patterborn, IL on June 14, 1949.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Illinois.
