Susan Kay Buechel, 59 years of Sparta, IL, passed away on June 7, 2017 at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. She was born April 18, 1958, in Geneva, NY.
Surviving are her husband David Buechel; two Daughters, Barbra Piper, Marty Piper; Son, Earl(fiance Ariel Bearden) Piper, III; eight grandchildren, Sabryn Piper, Kailynne Piper-Rabe, Michael Crider, Landen Piper, Keaton Piper, Larkin Piper, Ehren Ganley, Kaliegh Bearden; step-son, Steven Buechel; , along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara, nee Post, Shattuck; her first husband, Earl Piper, Jr.;
At her family's request, Susan was cremated.
There will be a gathering of friends and family on Sunday from 3 - 5 p.m. to celebrate Susan's life at her son Earl's home at 316 Bloom St. in Red Bud, IL. There will be a meal provided for all who come at 5 pm.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society.
