Steven John Gabriel's Obituary
Steve John Gabriel, 41, of Sparta, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in Ellis Grove, IL, with his mother by his side. He was born May 7, 1982, in Belleville, IL.
He was a member of Age of Awakening where he was the lead singer the band. He enjoyed, cooking, collecting vintage video games, target practice, loved the country life and being outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his daughter Anna.
He is survived by his mother, Beth Ann (Todd) Meyer of Ellis Grove, IL, his daughter, Anna Marie Gabriel, the mother of his child, Adrienne Hunter, his sister, Mercedes Scheurich, his uncle, Nic Wuller, his aunt, Donna Gabriel - Simpson, his grandmother, Betty Wuller, his five closest cousins, Heather Wuller, Dylan Wuller, Dexter Wuller, Stephanie Simpson - Thomas, and Sarah Simpson, along with a few more and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Michael Gabriel; his brother, Kyle Gabriel; his two grandfathers, Jack Wuller, and Michael Gabriel; his grandmother, Carol Gabriel; and his two Aunts, Diane Gabriel and Debbie (Gabriel) Frost.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home - Red Bud, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to a trust that has been established for his daughter or to the American Cancer Society #5 Schiber Ct., Maryville, IL 62062.
A very heartfelt thank you to Bobbie Price with Maple Creek Hospice for your everything she has done during this difficult time. She has been by Beth's side through Steve's hard-fought battle, with love and compassion.
