I was Steve’s High School Principal during his senior year and a little more. Steve loved to work with his hands, and was a very smart young man who did not care much for schoolwork, but he was motivated to get his diploma, even if it took a little longer than he expected. After he graduated, I hired Steve to do several excavation projects at my home on Lakefield Drive, and he always did an excellent job. After I retired, I asked Steve to help us out with excavation and septic tank work while we were renovating Sand Bank School, and he never hesitated to come out when I called, and barely charged enough to cover his expenses.
Each time I saw him he greeted me with the same smile you see in this photo. He was always respectful to me, and was one of the hardest working young men I ever knew. His bibs were his badge of honor.
Rest In Peace, Steve. God be with the Killy family during this time of grief.
