Stanley Roger Mumme's Obituary
Stanley Roger “Stan” Mumme, 76, of Ellisville, MO was reunited with his loving bride he missed so much at 4:30 AM, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Stanley was born on October 22, 1944 in Burlington, IA to Charles H. and Emma Marie (Simmons) Mumme. He married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Brown on August 17, 1963. She preceded him in death.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Stan served his country bravely during the Vietnam era. Once honorably discharged, he returned home and entered into sales, selling everything from vacuums to lingerie. He later joined his wife Barbara in a successful real estate career at Coldwell Banker Gundaker and later as truck driver for Werner Trucking until his retirement.
Stan was a Christian man whose greatest accomplishment was loving Barbara Jean his entire life and loving her completely. He enjoyed time with his family and talking about the Cardinals and was an avid fisherman. He also referred to himself as “Stanta” because he dressed as Santa for many years at Gundaker. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his daughter; Beth A. Morton and husband Ryan of East Carondelet, son; Kenneth L. Mumme of Austin, TX, grandson; Brandon J. Mumme of Ellisville, MO, granddaughter; Sadie L. Morton of Red Bud and great grandson; Kasen M. McHatton of Red Bud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, and his siblings.
Visitation will be from 12-12:30 PM, Friday January 15, 2021 at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo. A private funeral service will be held at the funeral home in Dupo. Rev. Mark Akers will officiate. Burial with military rites performed at the graveside by the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Due to current CoViD 19 Mitigation, facial masks will be required, and social distancing will be enforced.
Memorial donations are suggested to Oasis International Ministries or Disabled American Veterans and will be accepted at the funeral home. For more information, please visit www.leesmanfuneralhome.com.
