Sophie J. Eschmann's Obituary
Sophie J. Eschmann, 100 years, of Waterloo, IL, and formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away on February 25, 2018 at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo, IL. She was born October 18, 1917, in Columbia, IL, daughter of the late John and Catherine, nee Thoma, Eschmann.
Sophie had worked at Midwest Card Co. and Mavrakos Candy Co., St. Louis, MO, in her younger years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL.
Surviving are three nephews, Raymond (Marcel) Wierchem, Robert (Virginia) Wierschem, and Robert (Sylvia) Eschmann; three nieces, Darlene (Joseph) Knese, Mary Ellen Wierschem, and Louise (Warren) Myers; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Frank (Helen) Eschmann, and three sisters, Barbara C. Eschmann (her twin sister), Pauline (Ray) Wierschem, and Dorothy (Walter) Lehr; and a nephew, John W. Eschmann.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 am, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Columbia, IL, with Fr. Carl Scherrer, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
