Shirley L. Poppen, 80 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on March 26, 2020 at Red Bud Regional Care, Red Bud, IL. She was born August 24, 1939, in Nashville, TN.
She loved to sew and crochet.
Surviving are her four daughters, Kathy (Lonnie) Hardesty, Mary (James) Braun, Julie (Ron) Bierman, Barbara (Mike) Mollet; her two sons, Billy (Leisa) Skiles, Robert Poppen, Jr.; her sister, Norma Eckart; her grandchildren, Nicole (Brad) Blaylock, Zach (DeAnne) Junge, Tony Hardesty, Becca Hardesty, Rebecca (Elliott) Riley, Adam (Amanda) Braun, Brandon (Jadae) Braun, Travis (Ankicia) Braun, Rebecca Bierman, Suzanne (Josh) Lacowicz, Jeremy Donagher, Amber (Jimmy) Manillo, Ashley (Jason) Hill, Andy Skiles (Fiancée: Jamie Raymond), Robert Longstreet, Amiee (Chris) Bockhorn, Bradley Mollet, Alex Mollet, her several great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Poppen, her son, David Poppen; her parents, Bernard and Norma, nee Knight, Jarrell.
The CDC, in accordance with its guidance for the large events and mass gathering, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 10 people or more throughout the United States. At this time, all services for Mrs. Poppen will be private.
