Sandra Sue Scharf's Obituary
Sandra Sue Scharf, nee Briggs, 74, of Millstadt IL born September 14, 1940 passed away Saturday August 22, 2015 at Memorial Hospital. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family. Sandy was an amazing person. She loved her family with all she had. She was a caregiver in every way. She loved to spend time with Hunter the family dog, holidays with her family, enjoying her grandchildren, planting flowers and gardening.
Sandy was a lifelong member of Concordia UCC in Belleville.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tracy and Estelle Briggs, nee Hoef, Father and Mother In-Law Alfred and Henrietta Scharf Sr, Son Brian K. Scharf, brothers Melvin (Ina) Briggs and James Briggs. Brothers and Sisters in laws Alfred Scharf Jr, Florance (Ralph) Vogt, Leroy (Doris) Scharf, Hilda Scharf and Elvira Scharf.
She is survived by her husband Earl Scharf of 54 years. Children Linda Besher, Steve Scharf, Ed (Lisa) Scharf and Susie (Mike) Schwarz. Grandchildren Brittany Besher, Brandon, Mallory and Jordan Scharf, Breanne Schwarz, Lindsay, Kyle and Nick Scharf. Great-Granddaughter Marilyn Scharf. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandy's memory to Concordia United Church of Christ in Belleville.
The family will receive friends at Concordia UCC on Tuesday Aug 25,2015 from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to remain for the memorial service immediately following with Pastor David Kruger officiating.
To honor Sandy's wishes cremation was held.
