Sandra Marie Bereitschaft's Obituary
She was preceded in death by her father: Howard E. Scharf, father & mother-in-law: Fred & Helen Bereitschaft. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years: James Bereitschaft, her daughters: Kristy (David) Neese of San Antonio, TX. & Jamie Bereitschaft of Millstadt, IL., her mother: Margaret C. Scharf of Belleville, IL., her sisters: Teresa Hagen of Belleville, IL., Angela (David) Rapp of Wildwood, MO., Cynthia Koehler of West Frankfort, IL., her brothers: Kerry (Carla) Scharf of Decatur, IL. & Scott (Tammy) Scharf of Millstadt, IL., her two dogs: Cleo & Willie and she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, & many good friends. Sandra was a Chief Special Security Officer at Scott Air Force Base retiring in 2009 with 32 years in civil service. She pursued her education, finally getting her bachelorÆs degree from Washington Univeristy. She was active in the community, helping to deliver meals-on-wheels for the Millstadt Senior Center. She was an avid sports fan, she attended all her childrenÆs softball, basketball and soccer games as well as participating in many sports activities herself. She battled the pancreatic cancer with courage and determination for two long years, never giving in to the need for help until the very end. She attended Friedens United Church of Christ in Hecker, IL. Memorials may be made to Millstadt Senior Center, Friedens United Church of Christ Building Fund or Zion Evangelical Church Park Fund.
