Sammie Lee Story's Obituary
Sammie Lee Story, 86 years of Cahokia, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Reflections at Garden Place in Columbia, IL. He was born January 16, 1938, in Thebes, IL.
Sammie was retired as a switchman for the Union Pacific railroad. He was a member of the Dupo Quarterback Club. Sammie enjoyed being outdoors, cutting and trimming trees, hunting rabbits and squirrels and fishing.
Surviving are his children, Anthony Keith (Kimberly) Story, Sammie Dale (Lisa) Story, Tammy (Fiance Michael) Powell and David (Ashley) Story, his grandchildren, Shane Story, Matt Gould, CJ Gould Joseph Gould, Spencer Powell, JT Madrid, Hannah Story, Lauren Madrid, Gabe Madrid, Holly Story, Bree Story and Brantley Story, along with great grandchildren, his brother, Jack (Nancy) Story as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Story, his parents, Edgar and Bertha Story, his sister, Frieda Stigall and his brothers, Edward Story and Bill Story.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL, Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday November 12, 2024, at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL., with Jim Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
